Destination Location: News 8 Goes to Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — News 8 took a trip to Hartford county to explore the town of Glastonbury as a Destination Location during the 9 a.m. ‘Good Morning Connecticut’ newscast. The town shares its’ borders with Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Portland, East Hampton, Marlborough, East Hartford, Manchester, Bolton and Hebron.

Residents of Glastonbury had a lot to say about things to do and see on Facebook.

For an outdoor adventure, a walk along Riverfront Park, Cotton Hollow Preserve and even snowshoeing in Meshomasic State Forest are great spots. There are several pick-your-own orchards in Glastonbury including Belltown Hill Orchards and Rose’s Berry Farm. Those seeking an active lifestyle can go to Mission Fitness which was highly recommended as a place to workout in town.

There are many dining options including Glastonbury favorites like Birch Hill Tavern, Maggie McFly’s, J. Gilberts for steaks and seafood, Italian cuisine at Max Amore, dinner with a view at Rooftop 120, breakfast from The Spicy Green Bean or Ken’s Corner or a cup of coffee from So. G Coffee Roasters.

The Artisan’s Boutique is a local favorite for creative workshops and local art.
