News 8’s Favorite Snowstorm Comfort Foods

(WTNH) — With the snow storm keeping people off the roadways and inside, it’s a perfect day to spend time cooking or baking.

Ryan Kristafer took a walk in New Haven to the Elm City Market to take a look at how much food is left in the grocery store after many people stocked up on essentials, like bread and milk, ahead of the storm:

Storm Team 8 Meteorologist Sam Kantrow: “Grilled Cheese!”

Jocelyn Maminta: “Chili – there’s nothing heartier than all of the vegetables and meat”

Ann Nyberg: “Beef stew simmering in a crock pot all day and Frank Sinatra plays on in the house.”

Brian Spyros: “Believe it or not … there’s nothing better than a bowl of ice cream during a snow storm. ”

Sarah Cody: “On snow days, I always make pizzas with lots of toppings with guys.  We lay all the ingredients out and take some time with it.”

Darren Kramer: “Shake ‘n Bake chicken. Don’t judge.”

LaSalle Blanks: “Apple pie and twinkies (separately, of course). Both will make you smile and feel all sorts of warm inside!”
