Two juveniles arrested after stolen cars stuck in Newington snowbank

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)–Two young men who were reported missing from a juvenile residential facility were arrested in Newington on Friday after police found two stolen cars left in a snowbank.

Police found the cars on Berlin Turnpike in Newington at around 2:55 a.m. on Friday.

Shortly thereafter, they found the two young men walking along the turnpike. They were detained, and police said an investigation revealed that they had fled the cars, which were determined to have been stolen from South Windsor and New Haven.

They were charged with two counts of larceny and two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, and are scheduled to appear in New Haven Juvenile Court.
