Annual toy donation held at Yale in honor of North Haven boy

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– An annual toy donation for a great cause is happening at Yale on Monday.

It’s called the ‘Matty Jacques Toy Donation‘ and it’s in honor of a young North Haven boy who passed away.

Matty was just 5-years-old when he died from a heart defect in 2013. Since then, his parents have donated plush toys in his memory.

“It’s a way for us to go through our grieving process and help others. So it helps us out,” said Melissa Jacques.

The toy donation gets underway at the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital at 10 a.m.
