It’s not too late for a flu shot

(WTNH) — The flu is a big problem nationwide. But the good news is that it’s not too late to get your flu shot.

In Connecticut, there have been three flu-related deaths. And while this year’s flu shot is only about 30% effective against the most-powerful strain, officials say it can help reduce the severity of the symptoms.

Some pharmacies around the country are running low on flu shots.

“This is, I would say, the worst flu season that I’ve seen,” explained Dr. Claudia Pfeil.

“If the fever persists and you’re not able to control it then you probably need to be evaluated,” said Dr. Wally Ghurabi.

Nationwide, there are more than 41,000 cases confirmed, more than twice as many as this time last year.
