Deceased dog found in box in Meriden

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are investigating after a deceased dog was found in a box in Meriden on Tuesday night.

According to police, around 9:30 p.m., a resident walking their dog told officials that a dead pit bull in a box was discovered.

Officials responded to the scene at the intersection of Welles Terrace and Broadvale Road.

Police say the dog showed no obvious signs of trauma.

The dog’s body was transported to Animal Control by officers.
