In the Bender Kitchen: Olde Mistick Village-Pink Basil

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — As part of the Olde Mistick Village Merchant Series, Pink Basil will be making fresh tuna sushi nachos.

Pink Basil recently got 3rd place in Connecticut Magazine for our other restaurant The Spice Club for Best Thai Cuisine.

They have been in business ten years with their first location in Groton Connecticut called Thai Sawasdee. Their second location is located in downtown Niantic has been in operation for 5 years. Pink Basil is the third location, located in the Olde Mistick Village and has been in operation for 2 years.

A new fourth location, located in downtown Mystic is on the way. It will serve authentic Ramen noodle soup from Japan as well as Japanese BBQ.

Tuna Sushi Nachos Recipe:

3 oz fresh diced tuna

5 fried wonton skins

1 ripe sliced avocado

3 oz salsa (diced tomato, diced red onion, cilantro)

3 oz avocado dressing

2 oz tobiko (fish eggs)


Place 5 fried wonton skins on a plate.

Top each skin with the fresh diced tuna.

Top the tuna with the sliced ripe avocado

Top each nacho with salsa, avocado dressing and tobiko.
