FD: Concrete pump boom strikes construction worker in head

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Fire crews responded to a construction site in Danbury where they say a concrete pump malfunction caused injury to a worker.

According to the Danbury Fire Department, on Thursday around 9 a.m., crews were dispatched to Forty Acre Mountain Road after receiving a call for a man with a head injury.

Officials say a concrete pump truck’s boom malfunctioned and struck a worker in the head.

Firefighters say they used a rope system and stokes basket to pull the worker up a snowbank and into an ambulance.

It is unclear how serious the victim’s injuries are.

The incident is under investigation.
