Hartford crews responding to water main break on Brown Street

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) —- A water main break has closed Brown Street in Hartford Thursday morning.

MDC crews are currently working to repair a six inch water main break on Brown Street. Due to the location of the break, Brown Street is closed between Franklin Avenue and Wethersfield Avenue.

The repairs are expected to take from five to seven hours and and to be completed between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

This main was installed in 1891 and 29 multi-family homes n Brown Street will be affected because of the shutdown.
