Capitol Report: Republican candidates hold 2nd debate in race for governor

HEBRON, Conn. (WTNH) — Round two of the GOP Gubernatorial debates took place on Wednesday night.

To use some boxing terms, there were a lot of body punches and a lot of dancing around the ring, but no knockouts.

There was a testy exchange when Peter Lumaj, a businessman and attorney, questioned the leadership of candidates in political office.

Some of the other topics getting candidates fired up included Governor Malloy, the state of Connecticut’s economy, and, of course, taxes.
