Food assistance deadline draws near for stores

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The deadline is looming for stores to take part in the state’s food assistance program.

Grocery stores have until the end of the month to apply to be a part of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, also known as WIC.

Pharmacies can participate to sell formula.

Any stores that are interested are asked to contact the Department of Public Health to learn more.
