PD: Man arrested with crack cocaine in Putnam traffic stop

PUTNAM, Conn. (WTNH)– A Putnam man was arrested on drug charges after police allegedly found crack cocaine during a traffic stop on Friday night.

Police say at around 8:50 p.m., troopers stopped a car on Grove Street in Putnam for a motor vehicle violation. After interviewing the driver, identified as 36-year-old Henry “Hank” Tyus, police requested to search the vehicle.

During the search, troopers say they seized numerous rocks of crack cocaine, pre-packaged for street level sales, inside of the car.

Tyus was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and failure to signal.

Tyus was released on a $10,000 bond and is set to appear in court on January 24th.
