East Haven police search for alleged bank robber

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — East Haven police are investigating after a bank robbery on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, a robbery took place at Webster Bank located at 260 Main Street.

Police say the suspect handed a note to the teller and demanded money.

Officials describe the suspect as a tall, white man in his 20’s or 30’s with a slim to medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, a New York Yankees hat, gloves, a black face mask, khaki pants and work books during the alleged crime.

Authorities say he fled the scene in a newer model white GMC 1500 single cab with tinted side and rear windows and a strip of tint at the top of the front windshield.

The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Dodge Avenue.
