Police say at around 7:50 p.m., a detective saw a man exit the front entrance to Bristol Central High School, at 480 Wolcott Street, and recognized him as Jose Torres, of Bristol.
According to police, Torres had two outstanding arrest warrants for sale of narcotics so he was taken into custody by the detective.
Additional police arrived to the scene and Torres was also charged with possession of narcotics (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm on school grounds and weapons in a motor vehicle.
Police say Torres is a convicted felon and that during the investigation, a .380 semi-automatic handgun was found inside the car he had been driving.
Torres was held on a $120,000 bond.
