U.S. gun death rate rises, but CT among lowest in nation

(WTNH) — A new report shows the gun death rate in the United States has jumped, but Connecticut has one of the lowest in the nation.

According to a new analysis by the violence policy center, gun deaths are up 17% since 2008.

Connecticut ranks 5th out of the states with the lowest gun death rates.

Massachusetts is number one.

Out of all of the states, Alaska has the highest gun death rate.
