(WTNH) — This week on Capitol Report After Hours, the panel is joined by Joe D’Ambrosio, the “Voice of the Huskies”, to talk about UCONN athletics, the future of the XL Center, and the 2018 race for Governor.

Joe discussed UConn’s efforts to make their hockey team a dominant force in college hockey, alongside Quinnipiac and Yale‘s outstanding teams. He touched on the University’s efforts to bring UConn athletics to the greater Hartford community, and making ticket prices attractive to keep bringing fans back for multiple games.

The discussion turned to the aging XL Center, and if any amount of money could save the structure. Gampel Pavilion will turn 30 years old soon, and what can the state and the university do to provide the best experience for the players, coaches, and fans.

Lastly, the team talked about revitalizing Hartford, and which Gubernatorial candidate might have the plan to make it happen.
