Patriots, Eagles to head to big game in Minneapolis

(WTNH)– Football fans, you are either waking up pumped for the Patriots or thinking Tom Brady and company did it again. That’s because the team is looking to get back to back Super Bowl wins. But they will have to duke it out against the Philadelphia Eagles in Minneapolis.

So how much will that trip cost you if you want to watch sports history in action? Right now, if you leave from New York on Saturday, come back Monday and stay in a 2 star hotel, it will cost you about $3,000 for one person and that does not include the ticket to the big game.

But let’s take a look at the big winning celebrations Sunday night. Gillette Stadium saw fireworks with fans cheering filing out after nail-biting win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This would the team’s third Super Bowl in four years.

Over in South Philly, Eagles fans danced for their NFC title at a local sports bar after their victory over the Minnesota Vikings and packed the streets. The Eagles Franchise has never won a Super Bowl.

Here’s what the quarterbacks said after the games.

“We lean on each other, we play for each other and that’s what’s special about this team. There’s never going to be a time where we turn on each other. We’re always going to be there to support each other,” said Nick Foles, Eagles.

“We always have confidence. We really do. I mean whether it’s the beginning of the game or toward the end. I mean it’s never really over until it’s over with this team,” said Tom Brady, Patriots.

Overnight, ticket prices to the Big Game dipped slightly but they’re still not cheap. That’s because the Minnesota Vikings are out. They would have been the first team to play at home for a Super Bowl. Since that’s not happening, the prices went from $5,400 down to about $4,700. So not exactly a bargain.

But this will be history. Either the Eagles will fly to their first Super Bowl win or Brady will get his 6th.
