PD: New York woman arrested for jewelry store theft in Wilton

WILTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A New York woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing from a Wilton jewelry store last October.

According to police, on Oct. 18, 2017, units responded to a report of a theft at Campus Jewelers on River Road.

Officials say around 2:30 p.m., three white women and one white man entered the store. The women allegedly distracted the salespersons while the man stole jewelry from behind the counter. The suspects then allegedly purchased an item with cash and left the scene with stolen jewelry worth more than $21,000.

Following a lengthy investigation, police say they have obtained arrest warrants for all four suspects.

On Jan. 19, 2018, officials arrested 56-year-old Yolanda Santa at her home in Ridgewood, N.Y. Santa was turned over to Wilton police on Jan. 31.

She is facing charges of Larceny in the 1st Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny.

Santa was held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 1.
