(WTNH) — Airlines are looking to take advantage of the strong economy.

Unemployment is at a 17 year low and more people with jobs could mean more business travel. Thus, more people flying to their vacation destinations.

To keep up, many airlines are adding more flights and flying larger planes. These changes could result in more available seats and perhaps better prices for flights.

United plans to start matching the fare of lower cost carriers, like Spirit or Frontier, by expanding its no-frills fares.

American and Delta also have options for basic economy flights. The airlines are offering a cheaper fare, but with restrictions on perks like selecting seats.

Some tips for money savers include checking out the price predictor tool on bing.com. The tool will let you know if now is a good time to buy or if you’re likely to save by waiting.

Another tip is once your trip is booked enter your flight information in Yapta. The website will alert you if prices dropped and you’re owed a refund. Many airlines will give money back now.
