BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Thursday was a busy morning at Stony Creek Brewery. They were brewing four different beers, and they’re betting if they expand their operation to Foxwoods, it will brew up even more success.
Artist renderings give a sneak peek at the new brew house which will open next to the Fox Theater this summer. 2 floors, 7,100 square feet with a beer garden and a brew deck.
“We’ll be in a fish bowl behind glass,” said Brew Master Andy Schwartz.
There will also be seating for 300 guests.
“It’s all about the beers and if you don’t have great beer they won’t come,” said Stony Creek Brewery Owner Ed Crowley, Sr.
Crowley has forty years of experience in the beer business. He built the brewery in Branford from the ground up.
“It was a huge gamble but we understood the market,” said Crowley.

That gamble paid off. Last year more than 364,000 people came to the flagship location, and he’s betting if he builds at, Foxwoods folks will come there too.
It all started with a brew custom made for the casino.
“Foxwoods IPA Indian Pale Ale and it was a great starter conversation for us,” said Crowley.
A collaboration which benefits both.
“They want to provide a unique experience to their guest so it’s a great collaboration in bringing, I’ll just call it a younger crowd, possibly into the resort casino,” explained Crowley.
That casino is the largest in North America.
“It takes our brand to a whole other level and that’s what I wanted to do,” said Crowley.
Bestseller Big Cranky along with Stony Creek’s award-winning brews will soon be on tap at Foxwoods where beer will also be brewed.
“It’s more of an innovation. A test brewery,” said Schwartz.
All the beers brewed in Branford will be sent to the casino, so you’ll still be able to get all your Stony Creek favorites at Foxwoods. At the casino, there will also be some specialty brews with some unique only to that location.
