Capitol Report: Malloy proposes tolls, gas tax hike

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut’s crumbling infrastructure is a problem that is not going away.

Governor Dannel Malloy has postponed $4.3 billion in transportation projects.

His solution for generating new revenue involves tolls and a seven-cent gas tax hike on top of the combined 57-cent tax Connecticut drivers pay already.

The governor also proposed a tax on new tires during a speech last Wednesday.
