Putnam man charged with OUI, reckless driving

PUTNAM, Conn. (WTNH) —  A Putnam man is facing charges after police say he crashed a vehicle while operating under the influence.

According to police, on Saturday around 10:10 p.m., 20-year-old Jacob Privee lost control of his vehicle in the area of Underwood Road near Saban Street. Police say Privee’s vehicle struck several trees and crossed over lanes multiple times before coming to a stop.

Officials responded to the scene and arrested Privee.

He faces several charges, including Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs, Reckless Driving and other related charges.

A passenger, 20-year-old Kyle Crossman of Brooklyn, Conn. was transported to a hospital for suspected serious injuries. a 16-year-old passenger was also treated for minor injuries.

Privee was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14.
