KENT, Conn. (WTNH) — Conditions from the ice jams which threatened towns like Kent for much of January are finally improving.

Officials conducted a flyover on Sunday as they continue to keep a close watch on the status of the ice jams.

The Incident Command Team in Kent says it is seeing a gradual thaw, but that it could still be several more weeks until the ice jam moves downstream.

Authorities say a state of emergency will remain in effect in Kent until the ice melts or flows out of town.
