Officials identify body discovered in Old Lyme

OLD LYME, Conn. (WTNH) — A body discovered in Old Lyme on Monday has been identified by police.

According to officials, the body is that of 44-year-old Juan Colon of New Britain.

Around 3:00 p.m. on Monday, officials were notified of the discovery of a body in the area of Hatchett’s Point.

Units say Colon was reported missing to New Britain Police on Nov. 23, 2017.

Colon’s death remains under investigation by detectives from Central District Major Crime. State Police say there is no criminal aspect to this untimely death investigation.

The medical examiner says an autopsy has determined that Colon died from drowning and that his death has been ruled a suicide.
