GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A Rhode Island man is facing charges for multiple robberies in Groton.

According to police, on Dec. 6, 2016, a man entered the Stop & Shop located on Route 12 and passed a note to an employee demanding money. Police say a weapon was implied in the note but was not displayed. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say on Sept. 18, 2017, the People’s United Bank inside of that same Stop & Shop was robbed in a similar fashion.
