(WTNH) — February is Hot Chocolate Month at Hartford Baking Company. Company President Scott Khluger makes a dark hot chocolate to celebrate!
1 pint heavy cream
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 pinch salt
Bring vanilla, salt and cream to a simmer and melt chocolate over a double boiler if you have one (if not, stir into the cream mixture slowly and working in batches)
Combine everything, stirring constantly.
Serve immediately and top with a marshmallow or chopped nuts, etc. as desired.
To make Nutella hot chocolate, sub Nutella for the dark chocolate chunks.
