TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A Torrington man is facing charges for the 2017 death of a 15-month-old.
On Thursday, Torrington Police arrested 27-year-old Alex Ciccarelli-Rosa for the death of Evan Standish on June 6, 2017.
According to police, on the day of the child’s death, units were called to a residence on South Main Street for a report of an unresponsive child.
Police say Ciccarelli-Rosa, the entrusted caregiver for Standish at the time of his death, left the child unattended in a bathtub for a period of time.
A medical examiner ruled the child’s death a homicide with the cause of death being listed as “submersion in tub with blunt injuries to head and acute alcohol intoxication.”
Ciccarelli-Rosa is facing charges of Manslaughter in the 2nd Degree, Risk of Injury to a Minor and Tampering with Evidence.
