How to keep your health insurance after open enrollment

(WTNH) — Open enrollment for Access Health CT may be over, but Brand Manager Gina Breton explains there are still ways you can make sure you’re covered.

According to Breton, this year’s open enrollment was a successful one with over 114,000 Connecticut residents signing up. Breton says a substantial amount of those residents were new customers.

To make sure you stay covered, be sure to pay your monthly bill. Paying this bill will give you the piece of mind that your coverage is active.

Breton says, if Access Health CT has sent you a message over the phone or online that you need to provide more documents to verify your application information, be sure to get those documents in as soon as possible.

If you missed the open enrollment period, you can still sign up if you qualify through a life event, such as changing jobs or losing coverage through your parents’ insurance.
