Capitol Report: Malloy rolls out budget proposals

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Last Monday, ahead of his State of the State address, Governor Malloy rolled out his proposals for budget cuts, tax hikes and tolls.

What caught a lot of attention was a proposal to “out-smart” the new federal tax law which eliminates deductions for state and local taxes.

“It would be unreasonable for us as a state to not propose ways to assist our taxpayers,” Gov. Malloy stated.

News 8 Chief Capitol Correspondent Mark Davis joined the show to discuss whether or not the governor can get anyone to buy-in on this.
