Crash causes power outage, road closure in Norwich

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A car accident has closed Laurel Hill Avenue in Norwich and knocked out power to 900 customers Monday morning.

Norwich Public Utilities reported that 900 customers are without power after a car struck a pole on Laurel Hill Avenue. They say Frontier is replacing the pole.

Police have closed Laurel Hill Avenue from Water Street to Winchester Street.

There is no word on the cause of the crash or if anyone is injured.

It is unknown when the road will reopen.

At this time there are no further details as police are still investigating.
