FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a gas station at knife point in Fairfield.

Authorities say at 5:57 p.m. Sunday evening an armed robbery took place at Star Gas Station on 350 Jennings Road in Fairfield. They say the store clerk reported that a white male entered the store, pointed a knife at him and demanded cash.

Police say the clerk handed him an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and the man left in an unknown direction.

Officials say surveillance footage showed a white male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, a bright blow piece of cloth loosely wrapped around his head and sunglasses when entering the store area. They say the footage also showed him with a black bladed knife in his hand.

In the footage, police say the man was also covering his nose to try and conceal his face.
