3 arrested after Vernon robbery leads to police chase, then crash in Newington


VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) — Police arrested three suspects in an armed robbery and police pursuit overnight Sunday.

Authorities say just before 11 p.m. Sunday, the Vernon Police Department was notified of an armed robbery in the parking lot of Spare Time Bowling Alley.

Prior to officers arriving to the scene, police say three suspects fled in a vehicle.

Officials say state police troopers from Troop C found the car and engaged it in a pursuit on Interstate 84. They say the pursuit ended after the car crashed in Newington.

Police say two of the suspects were arrested at the crash scene. 19-year-old Joshua Dionne and 18-year-old Jerris Holloway, both of Hartford, were charged with robbery, larceny, forgery, possession of  of >.5 oz  of marijuana, and threatening. They were each held on $250,000 bond.

After a search, Newington Police were able to locate the third suspect, 22-year-old Charles Rivard of East Hartford. who fled on foot following the crash. He was transported back to Vernon to face several charges, including Robbery in the 1st Degree and Larceny in the 4th Degree.

Authorities say no one was injured during the incident and the armed robbery had nothing to do with the business.
