Flu sends highest number of CT patients to the ER in years

(WTNH) — The flu has sent the highest number of Connecticut patients to the emergency room in eight years.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the flu season shows no signs of letting up.

The agency is now warning people even if you’ve had the flu once, you could still get a second different strain.

A Japanese drug maker says it has developed a pill that can kill the virus within a day. However, the drug still has to go through the Food and Drug Administration approval process.
