Millstone to conduct training event Wednesday

Millstone nuclear power plant in Waterford, Conn.

WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Residents in Waterford and being told to not be alarmed at the sight of flares on Wednesday.

Millstone Environmental Lab personnel will be conducting a training event that includes practicing flare firing.

Officials say flares may be seen by residents near the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant.

The drills are expected to be held at the southern end of Millstone Point between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon.
