4th ranked Bassick thriving behind leadership of Qualon Wilkes

4th ranked Bassick of Bridgeport picked up another big win Tuesday night fighting off #6 Hamden. The Lions followed that up with a win over Career of New Haven.

Bernie Lofton’s team is now 15-1 and has done most of its damage on the road.

The Lions have played just 4 home games so far this season.

The leader of the team is senior Qualon Wilkes, a great player and 3 year captain, who takes his role seriously. Lofton saw something early on in his point guard.

“The players respect him, the kids in school respect and they follow his leadership”, says Lofton, “he’s a mild-mannered calm guy with a lot of energy and a lot of guts”
