West Haven school wins national competition

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A West Haven school has won a national competition for the state’s third district.

The Engineering and Science University Magnet School in West Haven won the 2018 Congressional App Challenge for their app called “Pass Tracker”.

The app was created by student in grades 10 to 12 and it allows them to excuse themselves from class without having to interrupt class time.

“The Pass Tracker App is an app that we use to eliminate having to sign out on a sheet of paper or a teacher having to give you a pass, just eliminating disrupting the class at all,” said Gianna Edwards a student at the Engineering and Science University Magnet School.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro was on hand to present the school with the big digital honor.
