NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — A “suspicious event” that took place at a church on Feb. 16 has been reported to New London police.

Officials say on Friday evening during the service at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, a man entered the church and remained in the rear of it.

According to police, when the man was contacted by two church members, he stated, “I see you brought back-up,” before exiting the building.

Authorities say no weapon was displayed, but it was reported that a noticeable “bulge” was seen in the man’s back belt line.

Units describe the man as white and between the ages of 55 and 60. He stands around six feet tall and weighs between 150-160 pounds. Police say he has short gray hair and a thin mustache. He was also seen wearing a brown sweater and carrying a blue coat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact New London police.
