MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A rally is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in hopes of granting Meriden mother facing deportation a stay.

According to officials, she had received a stay of deportation from ICE on February 5th, which should have allowed her to stay in the U.S. while her case was pending. However, on February 9th, she was informed that the stay had been re-interpreted and she was given a new deportation day of February 28th.

Senator Richard Blumenthal will speak on her behalf at a rally held at the Meriden City Hill at 5:30 p.m.

ICE claims it mailed Cumbicos a notification about a court appearance 16 years ago.
