NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)– The Red Cross is facing a blood shortage crisis.

Officials say, with the flu season being so devastating this year, in addition to all the bad weather we’ve had, the result has been the cancellation of hundreds of blood drives.

Now, the Red Cross is asking people to stop by and donate.

The Day reports that there are several opportunities to help save a life coming up later this month.

One blood drive is happening Tuesday at the Norwich Donor Center on Salem Turnpike from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There is another one at the same location on Thursday.
