Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial Commission unveils 13 design plans

NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial Commission unveiled 13 designs for a permanent memorial to be built in Newtown.

According to the Commission’s page on the Town of Newtown website, the commission initially received 188 memorial concept submissions. The commission has now selected thirteen plans to move forward with the next phase of the memorial design process.

The thirtreen plans submitted were chosen with feedback from the 26 families and the Newtown community at large. The next phase will narrow the submissions from thirteen down to five finalists.
