St. Vincent’s Medical Center: Understanding Heart Valve Disease and Treatment

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — We are joined by Dr. Robert Jumper, MD to help us get a better understanding of heart valve disease and it’s treatment.

Warning signs of valve disease include shortness of breath, dizziness, tiredness. These are abrupt changes from your typical energy levels. Often adults think the decline is simply from aging but that doesn’t happen overnight.

A heart healthy lifestyle makes your heart stronger and can help prevent valve disease but sometimes it can be genetic.
