(WTNH) — You can shop, shop some more and continue shopping and you’ll soon realize how expensive and nearly impossible it really is to keep up with the latest trends without emptying your bank account.
It’s why so many have turned to renting.
“It’s great for somone who loves to be on trend, loves to have something different in their wardrobe,” said wardrobe stylist Mollie Milano..
Milano says virtual rotating closests are booming with sites like Le Tote and Rent the Runway for clothing and accessories, and RocksBox for jewelry.
Here’s how it works. You pay a monthly subscription fee and they send you clothing or accessories that you choose or they choose for you based on your profile.
You wear what you like as many times as you like, then mail it back when you’re done. The shipping is free both ways.
“It’s fantastic for maternity,” said Milano.
A mom herself, she says it’s helpful when your weight is fluctuating.
“If you want to have a rotating maternity wardrobe, which is really hard to do because a lot of moms find themselves in black spandex every single day,” said Milano. “It’s also great for after having the baby, as your body is changing.”
Time is money and convenience is key as the in-demand shopping industry grows.
“The majority of our customers are the time starved mom, in this day in era, women are more time starved than ever and so Kidbox brings a convenient experience,” said Kidbox CEO, Miki Berardelli.
Stitch Fix and Kidbox work a little differently, they let a stylist shop for you. The styling fee is put toward anything you buy, then send the rest back free.
