Newtown students holding vigil for Florida school shooting victims

(WTNH) — Local students are holding a candlelight vigil for the victims in the Florida school shooting Friday night.

Newtown students who have lived through a school shooting tragedy and understand what those at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are going through are now showing their support.

Students will be holding a candlelight vigil Friday night to remember the victims and support the community of Parkland, Florida.

The vigil will be in the Blue and Gold Stadium at Newtown High School from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There will be candles available, but those attending the vigil are encouraged to bring their own in case they run out.
