Capitol Report: UConn splits with longtime sports radio partner

STORRS, Conn. (WTNH) — Divorces can be ugly, and one between the University of Connecticut and its longtime sports radio partner is looking to be just that.

After 26 years, UConn athletics is moving from WTIC 1080 to ESPN Radio.

Rumors are now swirling that WTIC’s conservative talk radio format played a role in the decision to split.

However, UConn says that played “no role whatsoever.”
