Repairs underway at Middlesex Hospital following crash

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — Middlesex Hospital wasted no time making repairs to its emergency department.

Last Wednesday, a car plowed through the entrance and caught fire.

The hospital opened its temporary E.D. on Friday and construction is underway to repair the water and fire damage.

About 90 percent of the emergency area was impacted.

It is unclear when work will be finished.

The hospital plans to install concrete barriers in front of the new emergency entrance.
