Stretch Your Dollar: Changing the way you search for a job

(WTNH)– If you’re looking for a job and not having any luck, it may be time to change up the way your searching! We are stretching your dollar with how more money can come when you’re happy.

Looking for a new gig? You’re not alone. According to recruitment firm, Selby Jennings, 75 percent of the more than 1,500 experienced professionals surveyed expect their next job to be at a different company.

“People do have more choices then they’ve ever had. Unemployment is at historic lows, the access to information about different opportunities more widely available than ever and there is a true war for talent out there for the absolute best people,” said Oliver Cooke, Executive Director Selby Jennings North America.

The majority of those surveyed say they will look at the whole package before accepting a new job and not just the cash.

“Money isn’t everything,” said Cooke. “Things like culture, things like environment, diversity inclusion, all of these factors play much higher importance than ever before and much higher importance on why people actually stay with a firm or choose to go.”

It’s never too late to consider a job change.

“There are lots of different ways to change your career trajectory in this day in age. So be open to new options out there and be readily available to take a look at them,” said Cooke.
