Student brings bullet to Hamden Middle School

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Hamden Middle School officials say a student brought a bullet onto school grounds on Wednesday morning.

According to Hamden Middle School Principal Daniel Levy, the student was cooperative and staff quickly took possession of the bullet.

Officials say an investigation was made with the school’s police school resource officer and that all students and staff were safe.

Levy stated that there were no threats or weapons discovered during this incident.

In a letter released to parents and guardians, Levy wrote, in part:

As always, student safety is our highest priority. While this is an isolated incident, it is important to remember that the safety of our school is best promoted through the continued vigilance of all members of our school community: parents, students and staff. Everyone’s commitment to full communication is essential and appreciated.”
