Milford Police: Reports of threats at high school found to be false

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Police investigated reports of threats at a Milford high school Wednesday that were alleged on social media.

Police say they conducted a joint investigation with Jonathan Law High School, at 20 Lansdale Avenue, in response to information that was alleged in social media posts, text messages and conversation referencing threats to the safety of students and staff.

School administration, the Milford Police Department’s Juvenile and Computer Crime Divisions and the Milford Public Schools all worked together for several hours to address the claims. After an investigation, police say all claims have been disproved and found to be false.

According to police, the information shared on social media was not based on fact and has not been substantiated.

Police ask that you do not share any of this false information that causes unnecessary alarm.

Officers say they will continue to monitor safety concerns and there will be an increased police presence at Jonathan Law for the remainder of the week.
